The Cheltenham Festival runs from Tuesday 16 to Friday 19 March 2027, four days of the best jump racing in the world, ending with the Gold Cup. Ladies Day is Wednesday 17 March and St Patrick’s Thursday is 18 March.

There is no strict dress code, but Cheltenham has a style all its own: tweed. A three-piece tweed suit, or a tweed jacket with cords or flannels, is the classic look, finished with a warm overcoat, a flat cap or trilby and good brown boots or brogues. March in the Cotswolds can be cold and wet, so layers matter. Ladies often choose tweed or wool coats, tailored jackets and hats, with practical shoes for the grass.
